Thanks to all that attended and submitted questions. It was great to have the chance to interact with our growing community! I found the biggest challenge is demystifying the world of intellectual property in simple, easy to understand concepts. And yet, in doing that, not losing the rich tapestry of issues that come up. Well, the questions were great.
They ranged from, “what is an Intellectual Property Plan” to topics such as:
- what is the most effective use of advertising/PR dollars when your product is solid
- how do you test the viability of your product
- how do you find out if your idea is unique; what happens if someone else has a similar idea
- how do you use third party data and other methods to re-educate a marketplace that doesn’t understand the value of your service
- how do you make your website more effective at generating sales
- how do you find the right people to complement your strengths (such as being the blue sky thinker but needing someone who executes your ideas)?
- what do you need to do to turn an idea into a systems based business
- what are the key indicators I should use to measure my progress compared to plan
What fascinated me was that we could have spent literally hours on any of these questions.
Looking ahead, I think we’ll start breaking down these large questions and give more detailed sessions and articles to see how the high level strategic questions translate into practical action items.
